Glow Discharging - Quorum Emitech K100X

Glow Discharger

CAIC has a Quorum Emitech K100X glow discharger running on Argon gas for glow discharging TEM grids, glass coverslips or other substrates. We routinely run a negative glow discharge at 25 mA for up to 2 minutes. Glow discharging improves the even spreading of many biological macromolecules on hydrophobic carbon films of TEM grids and is often performed prior to negative staining procedures.
